Condo living is very different from typical home ownership. You’ll need to consider the various advantages and disadvantages to determine whether or not condominium living is for you. It’s important to also take your personality type into account as well as your daily living preferences.
First off, let’s consider some of the pros.If you want to be located in the heart of the city, then condo living may well be for you. Condos often help ensure security as burglars are less likely to target areas where there are plenty of condo residents. Many locations offer various security features but the biggest advantage of living in a condo is that they’re low maintenance so you don’t have to worry about lawn care or certain house repairs. If you’re the kind of person who likes to travel for a few weeks at a time or plan a last minute vacation, condo living may be just what you’re looking for.
Although condos vary in price, they’re very affordable when you compare them to single family homes. This is because you don’t own the land so you get more interior for your dollar. Another important point to consider is that you’re entitled to enjoy some wonderful condo amenities such as swimming pools, gyms and tennis courts that you couldn’t otherwise afford. With the revitalization of many downtown areas and the low maintenance aspect that attracts much of the aging population, condos can often be a great investment.
